Blessing of Beer (Latin+English)
The next time you crack a cold one, make it a blessed occasion!
Long after Catholic monasteries perfected the craft of alebrewing, a formal rite of blessing beer was at last included in Pope Paul V's 1614 Rituale Romanum (the traditional Catholic book of blessings). That blessing is reproduced here without change, in both Latin and English.

Each one features a medieval manuscript detail of a bishop conferring the blessing of beer upon a cask of fermenting wheat.
